I will forever be thankful and grateful to The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and The Soboba Band of Luiseño for the career opportunities, family support, service recognition, education and friendship I’ve received over the last 20 years. This month of November, join me and country in celebrating National American Indian Heritage Month. This month is dedicated to honoring the cultures and traditions of the indigenous communities throughout the entire country and recognizing Indian Country achievements. Bush approved a joint resolution designating November 1990 “National American Indian Heritage Month.” Similar proclamations, under variants on the name (including “Native American Heritage Month” and “National American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month”) have been issued each year since 1994.
